Alice A. Hill

Alice Ann Brawley Hill, 79 of Kingston, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on May 20, 2025 after a courageous 15 year battle with cancer.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on September 23, 1945. Alice was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth McKenna Brawley. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic school and graduated in 1963. In January, 1966 she married the love of her life, Francis Edward Hill Jr.  

.Alice was a woman of strength, grace, and unwavering love. She faced every challenge, including her illness, with dignity and determination, always putting her family first. Alice was always the life of the party. She loved to make her delicious desserts and we can’t forget her famous jello and pudding shots.

In addition to her parents, Alice was proceeded in death by her sister Mary Coley and brother-in-law, Joe Coley, sister Patricia Gilligan, brother James Brawley and his wife Shirley, brother John Brawley and his wife Carol.

She is survived by her husband, Frank E. Hill Jr.; brother-in-law John Gilligan, Wilkes-Barre; son Francis Edward Hill III and his wife, Shari, Duryea; daughter Mary Danishanko and her husband George, Wyoming; daughter Allyson Brim and her husband James, Pittston; daughter Amy Sabol and her husband Jimmy Sabol, Dallas. Alice also had four grandchildren, Hunter Hill, Caleb Hill, Harley, Sabol, and Madison Danishanko, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Bruce Saidman, his nurse practitioner Priscilla Cooney, and the entire staff from the front desk to the back, for all the love and care they provided over the years. Additionally, the family would like to express the appreciation of the dedicated nurses and care givers that Allied Hospice provided in her last days.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of Saint Ignatius Loyola, 339 North Maple Avenue, Kingston by Msgr. Thomas Muldowney. Friends may call Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 at the church
