Duane Albert Craig Sr.
August 28, 1950 - May 17, 2024

Our dad had the strength of 100 men fighting this battle to get good care.
He began his life in Bear Creek the son of Irene Joanne Craig and Anthony John Craig (Jack).  He was the youngest of five and his siblings are Elaine Solinski, Judith Bori, Jack Craig, Tom Craig Sr.

He met our mother, Susan E. Craig from Parsons and they were married for 25 years.  They had three children, Barbara Craig, Machelle L. Craig and Duane A. Craig Jr.

Duane worked at Valley Crest for a few years and then worked for the Wilkes-Barre Housing Authority from 1985 - 2014 retiring as director.  During this time he also owned a bait shop, a golf club company and a carpet business.  Our dad was an adventurous man and retired to the Philippines for 9 years.  He could play any instrument so he opened a music studio while he was there to teach students of all ages to sing or play an instrument.  He had many talents and came from that generation of men who could fix anything.

He as blessed with 6 grandchildren, Carissa E. Hodle, Michael F. Hodle, Stephanie A. (Siler) Kennedy, Loegen R. Siler and Edward C. Craig.  He also had ten great grandchildren, Alayla Klinges, Star Hodle, Landyn Fisher, Carter Fassett, Faith Hodle, Michael Hodle Jr. Addeleigh Kennedy, Adriana Klinges, Maria Hodle, Riverly Kennedy.

Our dad loved to travel and saw all he wanted to see before falling ill.  He got his love of travel from his role model and older cousin Attorney Betty Mensch.  She taught him so much along with his older sister Elaine Solinski.  He absolutely loved to fish and golf.  He always said that life is to short and make the most of each day, and that he did!  May 17 was his last day on this Earth and his love of travel.   We pray that God took him right into Heavens doors and into His arms.  We love you dad and will never stop missing you.

A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 in St. Ignatius of Loyola Church, 339 North Maple Street, Kingston.  Any cards, flowers or donations can be sent to 65 East Carey Street, Plains, PA 18705.
