Henry W. Whitaker

Henry W. (Hank) Whitaker, 73, of the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre passed away on August 15, 2023 at Commonwealth Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.  He was born July 17, 1950 in Trenton, New Jersey a son of the late Henry and Mildred Bodine Whitaker.  

A graduate of Meyers High School and an Army veteran of the Viet Nam War he  was wounded twice during his service.  Hank was employed for many years for the Wyoming Sand and Stone Company in bridge construction.  He also did home improvements for several years.  He was a member of the former Parsons American Legion and also belonged to the PAV in Plains and many other organizations

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Pavlick Whitaker, and son, Henry Whitaker.

Surviving are his daughter Candace Kopiak and her husband, Norm; grandson, Christopher Kopiak; brothers, Edward Whitaker, Wilkes-Barre, Raymond Whitaker, Alabama; sister, Millie Whitaker, Wyoming; brothers in law, George Pavlick and Blair Pavlick, both of Wilkes-Barre; many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.  Interment with military honors will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Shavertown.
