Michael D. Pikaitis

May 17, 1951 — April 1, 2026

Kingston

Michael D. Pikaitis, of Kingston, passed away peacefully at his home on April 1, 2026. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Joseph and Hannah (Spangenberg) Pikaitis.

Michael was a proud graduate of Meyers High School, Class of 1969. He went on to build a strong work ethic and reputation throughout his career, serving as a foreman for Trade Eastern for over a decade until his retirement in 2010. He also worked for Pikes Creek Construction, and earlier was co-proprietor of A&M Construction Company from 1974 to 1987.

Known to many as “Mr. P,” Michael dedicated his time to coaching mini football for the Forty-Fort Flyers, where he made a lasting impact on the young athletes he mentored.

An avid outdoorsman, Michael found great joy in hunting and fishing. He was a member of the South Mountain Land Association and spent much of his free time enjoying nature—riding his ATV and snowmobile, tying flies, and hand-loading ammunition. His cabin was a cherished place, but nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his beloved grandson, Christopher.

Michael will be remembered as a loyal friend with a generous spirit and a great sense of humor, always welcoming others with warmth and kindness.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Pikaitis Jr., and his sisters, Grace Ann Smith and Lois Pikaitis.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Pikaitis; his daughter, Naomi Harding; his son, Michael Pikaitis; his cherished grandson, Christopher Harding; his stepson, James Kemmerer and his wife Amanda; and his sisters, Louise Pikaitis, Donna Tencza, Joanne Corridoni, and Ann Marie Quigg and her husband Bob. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A gathering for friends and family will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 10 - 12 at Maher-Collins Funeral Home, 360 North Maple Avenue, Kingston. A prayer service will be held at 10:30 a.m.
