Robert J. Metzger

Robert J. Metzger, 67, of Wilkes-Barre passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 peacefully at his home.  He was born January 21, 1956 in Wilkes-Barre a son of the late Anthony and Margaret Metzger.

He was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School class of 1973. Rob was known to many for his infamous family wing sauce and spit fire personality. He enjoyed hosting parties at his home, but most of all spending time with his family.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother Margaret Metzger, father Anthony Metzger, his brother, Donald A. Metzger and sister, Sandra Metzger Shaw.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Kaileen A. Starbuck and her husband Steven; Matthew J. Metzger and his wife Chelsae; David J. Zurek and his wife Morgan and Sabrina S. Sieklicki and her husband David.

The funeral will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. from E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Services will be conducted by Rev. Marty Garms, Pastor of East End Primitive Methodist Church. Robert will be laid to rest at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Albrightsville, PA.

A viewing will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. for family and friends to pay their last respects and reminisce.
